Week 7: On Page 10 of your sketchbook make an Artists' study of an artist of your choice. The artist must use Natural forms as key part of their subject matter. Look here for some examples or conduct your own research.

Week 5: on Page 8 of your sketchbook develop ideas for an "Developed Piece" in the Natural Forms project. A Developed Piece should take previously completed studies and make them larger, more intense, increasingly detailed. This week use only greyscale ie black to white, through grey. NO COLOUR. You should make between 3 and 6 studies. They should be annotated

Week 8 On Page 12 make a 4 x light toned backgrounds in a range of materials. Use paint, tea, collage, newspaper, food dye etc.

Additionally, complete unfinished work and improve work that needs refining

Week 9 On the backgrounds you made on P12 make your own studies appropriate to your project. Do not use only pencil

Week 10; Make two backgrounds on P15. On these make your initial studies for your Main Piece in the NATURAL FORMS project. The Main Piece ideas should evolve from the best pieces you have made so far. Do not use only pencil.

Wk11 On Page 16, make a study for your MAIN PIECE. Ensure it is coloured and annotated. lay down a background first and draw on top of the background.

Wk12: On Page 17, make a  second study for your MAIN PIECE. This also should be coloured and annotated and it should be a refined version of your initial piece. Make sure it is on a background.

Wk13: add appropriate studies to P13 and 14. Show off your drawing skills using a wide range of materials as you explore and refine the theme of Natural Forms. Make some beautiful images to be proud of. Individual tasks as negotiated with Mr Coultart in the lessons. Focus on layers, backgrounds and range of materials .

Week 33: No set task this week, but ensure you are up to date with your homework in the "Me, Myself and I" project.
Week 32: On page 41 of your sketchbook, draw a pair of your shoes: Look at the link for some examples -
Week 31: On page 39 and 40 of your sketchbook, further development one of your ideas in a series of studies using a wide range of materials.
Week 30: On page 38 of your sketchbook, start some initial developments from the studies you have made thus far in the "Me, Myself, I" project. Use backgrounds, avoid using only pencil.
Week 29: Take some self portrait photographs or take portraits for other people.
Focus on the face, with cropping and close-ups. Try interesting angles and use props. Stick them on page 37

Week 25 Easter Holiday homework - Two tasks
On Page 34 of your sketchbook, copy two large eyes, one in colour the other in monochrome. see this board:
Task two: On page 35 make an artist study of a self portrait artist.
Use this board or do your own research. 
Week 24- On Page 33 of your sketchbook, copy three of the self portraits on this board. Name the Artist and the date of the painting. Use colour. 
Week 23- On Page 32 of your sketchbook, draw a seies of images of eyes. lay down 5/6 backgrounds first, some coloured, some graphite and draw on top of these. Use line and shading. See the following board for examples or find your own.

Week 22- No Homework this week. All sketchbooks to be handed in to Mr Coultart

Week 21 - Find your own artist who has drawn or painted buildings and on P28, make an artists' study of their pictures of buildings.
Week 20 - On page 27 of your sketchbook, Stick in 4 backgrounds as shown in class and make a doorway sketch using 4 different materials; pencil, pen, and coloured pencil. Focus on texture, proportion and detail.
Week 19 - On page 26 of your sketchbook, Make an artists study of the work of Ian Murphy. See his images here

Wk 18 - Catch-up week. Please ensure you have completed the work on pages 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25

Wk 17. On p 25 of your sketchbook make a collage/montage of textured building materials from studies

of brick walls, stone blocks, concrete, wood, metal & close-ups of doors etc. You can use the photographs you took in the lesson, search for your own images on the web, or use the images in this link.

Tip: for a visually successful piece, use photography and drawing. This can create a sumptuous image.

Wk16. Make some studies of doorways by the artist, Lucy Jones: see here                                                            and here                                                          for examples. Add some information about the artist. Do this on P.24 of your sketchbook.

Wk15. Sketch 3 or 4 doorways on page 22. Look here for examples or search for them yourself.
